Providence Pass News & Updates

Providence Pass Official Statement

In late 2021, an allegation was made in a private therapy session by a student at Providence Pass against an employee.

The organization responded with urgency to the allegation by notifying all governing agencies within two hours, according to Fla. State Statute 39.201(1)(a), to which we adhere. Providence Pass operates under regulatory statutes requiring us to report any suspicion of abuse or any allegation of abuse to the Fla. Department of Children and Families and governing body FACCCA.

We suspended the accused immediately while proactively working with the Law Enforcement and Fla. Department of Children and Families. We have honored all requests by entities and individuals involved in this case and will continue to assist in any necessary or helpful way. We seek truth and justice in this grave matter.

While we recognize that no organization is immune to potential allegations of abuse, we were heartbroken to learn of the allegation in our organization. The safety and care of the children at Providence Pass are our highest priority. Though Providence Pass does not have all the details of the allegation or the discoveries made during the investigation, we care deeply for any victim of abuse.

This is currently an open and active case; therefore, state and federal laws prohibit us from speaking publicly on the matter or sharing any knowledge we have concerning the allegations. We firmly believe in the Osceola County judicial system and trust in the entities involved in this case. Providence Pass adheres to all standards set forth by Fla. State Statute 409.176. According to AHCA [Agency for Health Care Administration], all employees undergo a rigorous fingerprint and background screening according to the administration of Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse, under which employment eligibility is determined. We will continue to demonstrate best hiring practices and operate with full integrity and excellent ethical standards. The students at Providence Pass receive individual personalized mental health support, behavioral techniques to help them overcome challenges both emotionally and socially, and a top-rated education in a fully accredited education program, registered with the Dept of Education as a preparatory school with College Board recognition.

Providence Pass will continue to provide compassionate care to a population of individuals desperate for healing and recovering, and finding their way in a hurting society.
