When Is Boarding School the Right Option?
Our summer program focuses on helping adolescent girls who have experienced abuse, adoption, divorce, loss of a parent/loved one, or another traumatic event that is causing them to struggle. We work with a variety of disorders including mood disorders, attachment difficulties, depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, and mild substance abuse.

We develop custom treatment plans to help at-risk teenagers heal, grow, and succeed. Credit recovery assistance is available over the summer.
Flexible Academics
Our education program promotes diversity, inclusion, and life-long collaborative partnerships by fostering a safe learning environment with instructional modalities that nurture independent critical thinking and reinforce core values that prepare students to overcome life’s challenges.
Equine Assisted Therapy
Horses are known for their heightened sensitivity and mirroring of human non-verbal communication. Through structured equine therapy, students establish confidence, trust, and healthy boundaries by practicing empathy and developing authentic connections with instructor guidance and interpretation.
Residential Treatment
Our residential program provides intensive guidance for girls with emotional or behavioral challenges including an evaluation to assess the student’s needs, a personalized treatment plan, regular therapy sessions with an experienced provider, and communication with family or support system.
Spiritual Growth
Our goal at Upward Bound is to nurture spiritual growth within each student by offering regular meetings for sharing God's Word as well as times throughout the day when spiritual principles are integrated within daily lessons and other activities.
Therapy & Emotional Skills
Students receive evidence-based counseling from trained therapists to help identify and change negative thoughts. Through skills training and practice, students gain the knowledge and confidence to reshape how they view themselves and the world around them to correct negative or unsafe behaviors.

Who We Are
Upward Bound provides a compassionate environment that nurtures the cognitive, emotional, and social development of struggling adolescents within a therapeutically supportive and educational community. Our facility includes private therapy offices for individual or family counseling, an intimate but modern group therapy room, indoor/outdoor interaction spaces, state-of-the-art technology, and educational tools to give at-risk girls the opportunity to heal and grow from past traumas.
